A COVID-19 Update For Our Kiwanda Cafe Community

We would like to update our valued Kiwanda Café customers on the evolving COVID-19 Coronavirus situation, and the precautions we are taking at this time.

Takeaway Orders

From 12pm on Monday 23rd March 2020, Kiwanda Cafe will only be able to serve you beverages and food that is takeaway.

In line with COVID-19 restrictions imposed overnight, we will be removing our dine-in service and will also have a maximum allowance of people allowed in the cafe at one time. The maximum number will be displayed upon entry, to comply with the 4m2 distancing measures.

The GOOD NEWS is you can still enjoy all your Kiwanda favourites by visiting our store and taking it away.

These are tough times and we’re here to help support you in your day with your favourite beverage or snack, or a little (socially distanced) chat while you wait for your daily grind, to-go.

We’re all in this together and we’ve got your back!

In this unprecedented global situation, we want to reassure you that the safety of our customers and staff remains our top priority.

While we have already taken precautionary steps to increase cleaning and sanitising procedures, we will also be introducing a number of new measures, including:

  • Updated food handling procedures and more frequent cleaning.

  • Social distancing of 4m2 and a maximum allowance of people at one time.

  • Serving you beverages and food that is takeaway-only.

  • Our café area will not be accepting reusable cups to minimise risks to health and safety, and will be serving hot and cold beverages in takeaway cups.

  • Cash payments will continue to be accepted for now but we wish to encourage you to ‘tap and go’ if possible.

  • Zarraffa’s Z Cards will continue to be accepted and as a measure to eliminate contact, we ask that your Z Card be presented for our barista to manually enter in the membership number.

  • Stirrers, spoons, sugar packets and coffee lids will be available on request, rather than located in our Sugar Bar area.

  • Roastery Tours (hosted at our Eagleby Head Office) will be cancelled temporarily.

  • Our Roastery and Warehouse has been zoned to minimise contact with staff and for deliveries.

The Kiwanda Café kitchen and bar is still serving our all day menu and our piccolo coffee roasters are available for purchasing freshly-roasted beans while you wait.

As we navigate through this developing situation, we may initially need to implement additional measures to ensure that we’re providing the best care possible to you, our customers, such as limiting the amount of seating available in store. Cafe closure is a last resort and will only occur if we feel that it is in the best interests of our customers and staff.

Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by Coronavirus. We have immense respect and admiration for those healthcare workers, community organisations and government bodies who are on the front line working hard to contain it.

For those working at home, our Zarraffa’s Roastery website is available for Online Orders and all of our Zarraffa’s Coffee stores remain open at this point in time.
